The result was an engaging exhibition presence that combined landmark project case studies, interactive content and a rugby-themed competition that drew visitors to the stand and helped generate a pipeline of new business opportunities.
Case Study
A1 Flue Systems – Data Centre World London
Client: A1 Flue Systems
Event: Data Centre World, Excel London
Agency: Sans Frontière
Sans Frontiere was commissioned to design, organise and deliver A1 Flue Systems’ presence at Data Centre World London, one of the UK’s most important exhibitions for mission-critical infrastructure and data centre engineering.
The brief was to create a stand that would raise brand visibility, communicate A1’s expertise and generate meaningful conversations with consultants, contractors and data centre operators.
Stand Design & Visual Impact
Sans Frontière developed a stand concept built around A1’s landmark engineering projects, demonstrating the company’s capabilities in complex flue and exhaust systems.
Large-format project panels showcased installations including:
• The Shard – Seven flue structures
• 20 Fenchurch Street – Future-proof boiler flue systems
• Battersea Power Station – Over 2.5km of twin wall stainless steel flues
• Twickenham Stadium – Stainless fan dilution system
Integrated QR codes allowed visitors to instantly access detailed project information and technical specifications, helping extend engagement beyond the stand.
The stand was constructed in partnership with Tecna, who delivered the installation professionally and efficiently.
Driving Engagement
To attract attention across the exhibition floor, Sans Frontière introduced a rugby-themed competition, giving visitors the chance to win tickets to the Autumn International rugby matches at Twickenham Stadium.
A1 branded rugby balls proved to be a simple but highly effective conversation starter, helping draw visitors to the stand and spreading awareness throughout the exhibition.
Client Feedback
John Hamnett, Managing Director of A1 Flue Systems, said:
“Yes, all in all the stand was very good. QR codes always work well and the guys from Tecna were very good too – I made a point of thanking them personally while they were dismantling the stand.
The rugby balls worked really well and definitely brought people to us. One consultant from Red Engineering said he didn’t even realise we were exhibiting until he saw someone with an A1 rugby ball and came over to say hello.
We have many leads to follow up over the coming weeks and hopefully we secure some successful business from it too. We’ve already had a request from AVK to be set up on their supply chain and they want to visit the factory – we’ve quoted them many times in the past without success.”
The Result
The event generated significant engagement and a number of strong leads, including new discussions with AVK, who have since requested a factory visit and are exploring adding A1 Flue Systems to their preferred supplier list.
Through a combination of stand design, storytelling and interactive engagement, Sans Frontière helped A1 Flue Systems maximise their presence at Data Centre World and strengthen their position within the mission-critical infrastructure sector.
